Response to Action Short of Strike by EIS-FELA
A spokesperson for College Employers Scotland said:
“It is deeply disappointing that EIS-FELA is undertaking action short of strike, which includes a resulting boycott. Unfortunately, this may well have a serious impact on college students at a crucial time in their courses.
“While it is too early to tell what the specific impact is across Scotland’s 26 colleges, individual colleges will be doing everything they can do at a local level to minimise the effect of the resulting boycott. This may include reviewing assessment and verification policies, as well as checking data management processes.
“College Employers Scotland is in regular contact with the university sector, training providers and awarding bodies to update them on the current situation.
“In terms of negotiations, College Employers Scotland has met EIS-FELA again this week to work towards an agreement on pay, so colleges can continue delivering the world-class learning experience students deserve."
