The 2021/22 pay discussions have been a very challenging time for College Employers Scotland and the EIS-FELA, given the college sector’s severe financial constraints.
Against this background, the agreement reached by the employers and the trade union to give lecturers a £1,000 pay rise is testimony to compromise and flexibility on both sides in order to find a consensus solution.
The agreement remains to be ratified by members on both sides but both employers and the trade union look forward to shortly putting this year’s dispute behind them and working together in partnership to face what will be a challenging time for the sector in the year ahead.
