Comment on EIS-FELA Strike Action
Gavin Donoghue, Director of College Employers Scotland, said:
“The EIS-FELA has now called lecturers out on strike for seven days. The good offer of £1,050 is still on the table for Scotland’s lecturers to accept.
“The pay offer from employers is more than has already been accepted by teachers, police officers and firefighters, and keeps lecturers in Scotland with the best pay and conditions in the UK.
“We remain open to exploring creative solutions to resolve this industrial action with EIS-FELA, but have to re-iterate that further strike action will not result in an increase to the current pay offer as there is simply no more funding available.
“Colleges are doing everything possible to minimise the disruption to students who are busy undertaking exams and finishing their coursework.”
