College Employers Scotland met with the support side trade unions this afternoon to further discuss their dispute over the employers’ pay offer.

While a resolution could not be reached today, both sides have agreed to meet again specifically to discuss college finances. We look forward to both sides entering into this exercise in a spirit of good faith.

Scotland’s colleges have nothing to hide about the dire financial situation facing the sector - Colleges are facing a £5.7m deficit in this academic year.

We look forward to continuing to engage with the support side trade unions in order to resolve this industrial dispute and avoid potential strike action.
